Nintendo just announced it’s spanking new console. It’s called Switch and it looks amazing! We finally have a name to the console that went by the codename NX. It will be available starting March, 2017.
The new console is not only interesting in terms of design but also by way of what it can do. The Nintendo Switch tablet rests on the Nintendo Switch Dock that connects to the TV. Lift the Switch from the dock to instantly “switch” to portable mode. Nintendo says it’s a “high-definition display.” No details on the resolution. Switch is controlled by detachable Joy-Con controllers which can be attached on either side of the tablet or Joy-Con Grip accessory which mimics a traditional controller. These Joy-Con controllers can be used by a single player in each hand or two players can use one separately. There is also an optional Nintendo Switch Pro Controller which can be used instead of the Joy-Con controllers if you so chose.
It’s an interesting take on a gaming console. Going by the pictures, we are sold. We can’t wait to get our hands on the Switch. There is no information on the price at the moment.
